The final weeks of the term have seen students complete a range of assessment tasks including the Exam Block.\u00a0 Some classes may have received their assessment back or they may receive it early next term.\u00a0 The return of these assessment items is an important reflection tool to allow students to see how they can improve based on the feedback given by their teacher.\u00a0 \u00a0This will allow them to review their goals and to continue to strive for academic success.<\/p>\n

I hope students enjoy the holiday period and take some time to do the things they enjoy most, including rest.\u00a0 Term 4 is our shortest term of the year and it moves at a rapid rate.\u00a0 As such, our students need to be recharged to prepare for this fast pace.\u00a0<\/p>\n

NAPLAN 2019<\/h3>\n

The Year 7 and 9, 2019 NAPLAN results have been posted to all parents\/carers of students who sat these tests in May this year.\u00a0 The student report details the results from the test across the content strands of numeracy, writing, reading, spelling, grammar and punctuation. \u00a0\u00a0If you have not yet received a copy of the NAPLAN results, please contact Melissa Cowan via mcowan@stpatscollege.qld.edu.au<\/a><\/p>\n

College Speech Night<\/h3>\n

Following the conclusion of Term 3, academic results for students will be collated to determine Academic Awards for the College Speech Night.\u00a0 The 2019 College Speech Night will be held on Wednesday, 30 October.\u00a0 Students who are academic award recipients will be advised during assembly on Wednesday, 9 October further documentation will be given to students on this date including details of the Speech Night and rehearsal.<\/p>\n

Year 11 – Unit 2 Reports and Subject Changes<\/h3>\n

Year 11 students have now completed Unit 2 and will begin Unit 3 content at the beginning of Term 4, 2019.\u00a0\u00a0 All Year 11 students will receive a Unit 2 Report Card during the holidays to reflect the conclusion of this unit.\u00a0 This report card will be emailed to parents\/carers.<\/p>\n

A reminder that any Year 11 students wishing to change subjects for Unit 3 and 4 can book a meeting with the Director of Studies, Ms Amy Byrnes.\u00a0 Subject changes for Unit 3 and 4 must be finalised by Friday, 18 October (Week 2, Term 4).\u00a0 Any student that wishes to change subjects, must do so at the beginning of Unit 3, as any student that changes throughout either Unit 3 or Unit 4 will not receive credit for these paired units.<\/p>\n

QCS Results<\/h3>\n

Year 12 students sat the Queensland Core Skills (QCS) test on Tuesday, 3 and Wednesday, 4 September 2019.\u00a0 This was a historical event as it was the final time the QCS test will be completed.\u00a0 Students are to be congratulated on their preparedness and positive attitude as they participated in the four tests over the two days.\u00a0 The results from the QCS Tests will be released via the Student Connect Portal on 13 November 2019.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Year 12 Key Dates<\/h3>\n

As Year 12 students get closer to their exit, it is important that they are aware of some key dates:<\/p>\n
