However, as this date falls in the June\/July holiday period, the College holds its celebrations in Week 7 of Term 3.<\/p>\n<p>NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth.\u00a0With over 145 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students at the College, this week means a great deal to our students, staff and families.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s theme has been <em><strong>Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up!<\/strong><\/em> and reflects a proud history of getting up, standing up and showing up, from the frontier wars and the earliest resistance fighters, to our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities fighting for change today. <span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">Whether it\u2019s seeking proper environmental, cultural and heritage protections, Constitutional change, a comprehensive process of truth-telling, working towards treaties, or calling out racism\u2014we must do it together.<\/span><\/p>\n<section id=\"section-content\" class=\"section section-content\">\n<div id=\"zone-content-wrapper\" class=\"zone-wrapper zone-content-wrapper clearfix\">\n<div id=\"zone-content\" class=\"zone zone-content clearfix container-12\">\n<div id=\"region-content\" class=\"grid-12 region region-content\">\n<div class=\"region-inner region-content-inner\">\n<div id=\"block-system-main\" class=\"block block-system block-main block-system-main odd block-without-title\">\n<div class=\"block-inner clearfix\">\n<div class=\"content clearfix\">\n<article id=\"node-level-2-page-2326\" class=\"node node-level-2-page node-published node-not-promoted node-not-sticky even clearfix\">\n<div class=\"clearfix\">This year, as a collective, we have chosen <em>community<\/em> as our focus. The students have been instrumental in devising this year&#8217;s activities and I&#8217;m very proud of the passion and drive they have demonstrated. I know it will be a wonderful week of celebration.
