Mathematics students at St Patrick\u2019s have been making their mark with strong results in two prestigious competitions.<\/p>\n

In the Science Teachers\u2019 Association of Queensland\u2019s Problem-Solving competition, St Patrick\u2019s students took out five of the six awards for students in Years Seven to Ten. Assignments completed by the students as part of their Semester Two assessment were submitted with the following results:<\/p>\n

Year 7 and 8 Division<\/strong><\/p>\n

First Place\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Grace Burbidge\u00a0 (Year 8)\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Masterchef<\/p>\n

Third Place\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Kanako Weightman (Year 10)\u00a0 \u00a0 Building Bridges in Townsville<\/p>\n

Well done to all five girls who will receive both certificates and monetary awards for their efforts.<\/p>\n

Year Seven to Nine students in the Young Scholars\u2019 program, also participated in the Australian Mathematics Competition with a number of students achieving significant awards.<\/p>\n

LEGO League Robotics Competition<\/h3>\n

Congratulations to Year 7 students Taryn McCullough and Bella Broadfoot; and Year 10 Students Alice Wiegmann and Clare Alexander, who competed at the First LEGO League Robotics competition at the University of Queensland. These girls have been working very hard in Coding Club during Terms 3 and 4 to prepare for this competition.<\/p>\n
