2026 BEGINNING OF TERM 4 – PRINCIPAL’S EDITION - 16 October 2026
FROM THE COLLEGE PRINCIPAL

FROM THE COLLEGE PRINCIPAL

Welcome back to all members of our community after what I hope was a thoroughly restorative end of Term 3 break. I was particularly happy to connect with our returning students and staff from their Japanese immersion. I am grateful to our staff (Ms Anna Kendall, Ms Kristen Armitage and Mr Michael Pope) who ensured students remained safe, whilst also experiencing a wonderful immersion opportunity. Events such as these build wonderful opportunities for students to build resilience, develop more worldly perspectives and immerse themselves in cultures different from their own. I know many of our students will value this experience for the rest of their lives and I thank them for their curiosity and willingness to seize opportunities.

I wish to also express my congratulations to the SPCT Rowers who participated in the QLD Schools’ Rowing Championship Regatta in Rockhampton at the start of the term break. A number of crews and individuals progressed to finals and many achieved personal bests. In doing so, they proved that hard work pays dividends. I enjoyed celebrating the season with rowing families on October 9 at the Rowing Awards Dinner and thank Ms Susan Wilkinson, Ms Meg Henderson, Ms Nisha Hamann, Ms Maya Williams, Mr Hugo Brown and all of the rowing coaches for their wonderful support of our athletes.

Term 4 promises ongoing opportunities for our students in and outside of the classroom, including:

  • OPTIMINDS State Finals (goodluck to all competitors)
  • Netball Clinics for Year 7 and 8 on Tuesday and Thursday mornings with Megan Tomarchio
  • Run Club – all ages on Tuesday afternoons and Friday mornings
  • Rugby League for Years 8, 9 and 10 on Wednesday afternoons playing against St Margaret Mary’s College, Southern Cross Catholic College and Ryan Catholic College (3 week round robin – Week 2 training session)
  • Swim Club – Friday mornings at Tobruk
  • Confraternity 2027 Strength and Conditioning training – 4.00pm to 5.00pm at Forma Fitness under Coen Hess
  • Performing Arts Showcase

Best wishes also to our Year 12 students undertaking external examinations; all the very best.
