Students have come to the business end of the year with assessment for all of their subjects, whether this be assignments, practical tasks, performances or exams.  During this time, it is important that students manage their time effectively including balancing their study requirements with other activities.  It is also important that our students are looking after their health through healthy eating, exercise and gaining appropriate hours of sleep.

2019 Speech Night

Thank you to all of the families who were able to join us for our annual Speech Night. We were very excited once again to be able to live stream this event so that family and friends who were unable to attend were still able to share in our students accomplishments.

Exam Block Timetable

All students across Year 7 to 11 will participate in an Exam Block in Week 7.  It is important that students have accessed their relevant Exam Block and follow the conditions outlined on the final page of each document.  Exam Blocks for the relevant year levels will be as follows:

  • Year 11 – Tuesday 19 to Friday 22 November 2019
  • Year 10 – Tuesday 19 to Friday 22 November 2019
  • Year 9 – Tuesday 19 to Friday 22 November 2019
  • Year 8 – Thursday 21 and Friday 22 November 2019
  • Year 7 – Thursday 21 and Friday 22 November 2019

Year 10 and Year 11 students are the only year levels permitted to study at home, or for Boarders in the Boarding School, during study sessions.  If a Year 10 or 11 student has an exam in the morning and in the afternoon on the same day, they cannot leave the College unless prior arrangements have been made with the Director of Studies.

If parents, carers or students have any further questions in relation to the Term Four Exam Block Timetable, please contact me via email abyrnes@stpatscollege.qld.edu.au.

Semester Two Report Cards (Year 7 to 10) and Unit Three Progress Reports (Year 11)

Semester Two Report Cards for students in Years 7 to 10 and Unit Three Progress Reports for students in Year 11 will be distributed in the holidays via email.  If you do not receive your copy of the Report Card, please contact the College office.  This report is designed to provide an overview of academic achievement, behaviour and work ethic in each subject throughout Semester Two and a progress report on behaviour and work ethic for Year 11 students across Unit Three.  If your email address has changed, please contact the College office to update your details.

Year 12 Key Dates

Queensland Core Skills (QCS) Test results have now been issued to Year 12 students who participated in the test.

Please find following some important dates for Year 12 students:

  • 20 November 2019 – Schools will publish Subject Achievement Indicators (SAIs) for students to check.
  • 13 December 2019 – The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) will post all QCEs, Senior Statements, Statements of Results and Tertiary entrance statements to Year 12 students.
  • 14 December 2019 – QCAA will publish all Year 12 results and Overall Positions (Ops) via student connect.

It is important that all Year 12 students have logged into their student connect account via

We wish our Year 12 students the best of luck as they begin their post-schooling life.  They have worked hard throughout their high school years and we hope they have every success in their chosen pathways and continue to be lifelong learners.
