Remembrance Day Liturgy

We welcomed SGT Gayle Walkom and MAJ Andrew Ryder to our College as part of our Remembrance Day Liturgy earlier this term. SGT Walkom delivered an address about the importance of opportunity and service. MAJ Ryder played a very moving Last Post. A special thank you to our Choir who performed beautifully and to our Cadet, Year 11 student, Heaven Wilson, who laid our wreath. “At the going down of the sun, and in the morning; we will remember them. Lest we forget”

Year 12 Farewell Mass

On Monday evening we celebrated the Passing of the Light, an important Rite of Passage in which the Year 12s passed on the Light of Leadership to the Year 11s.  We are grateful to Fr Rod for leading the mass and to Jacqui and the Music Department for accompanying our fantastic choir. Special thanks also go to our altar servers, Adelaide Burke, Charlie Pacey and Haylie Emanuel and to Ms Wilkinson for all her hard work behind the scenes.

Following mass, we shared a delicious supper supplied by the Parents and Friends Association.

2019 Vinnies Christmas Appeal

During the second half of term 4, the Mercy Girls in Action will be hosting the annual Vinnies Christmas Appeal. We are seeking donations to help support people in need during the festive season. It is estimated that there are over 750,000 children across Australia living in poverty. The Christmas season appeal aims to support families and individuals struggling by donating food, hampers and presents during the festive season.

This year each House is asked to donate the following items:

Princes: Christmas pudding, tinned custard, tinned fruit, gravy mix & soup.

Doms: Lollies, rice, cereal, biscuits, tinned vegetables & movie vouchers.

Powers: Shopping vouchers, pasta, pasta sauce, & spreads (jam & vegemite).

Thrones: Bon-bons, tinsel, Christmas cake, pancake mix & cordial.

***Please ensure all products are non-perishable and not out of date.

Please take your donations to the Mercy Rose Room at the end of PC each day. There will be baskets in the Mercy Rose room.  In the last week of term we invite everyone to help pack these items into hampers.

Start: Monday 4 November week 5

Finish: Monday 25 November week 8

Packing the Hampers: Tuesday 26 November 12.45pm in A14.

Presenting the hamper to St Vincent de Paul: End of year Mass 28 November.

Thank you for your support.

A community in which this universal charity reigns, is capable of surmounting all difficulties

TOGETHER WE PRAY

Loving God, we thank you for all the Year Twelves.

You have blessed them during their years at St Patrick’s College with wisdom, friendships, and skills.

May you continue to challenge them to make this world a better place.

Give them faith and a sense of purpose in their next steps.

Show them how to serve others in effective ways.

As they embark on the next chapter in their lives we pray
that your hand of protection be about them, and may your Word continue to be
a light unto their path. Help them to make wise decisions and to always keep

you first in all that they do.

 Amen.
