Fashion Friday – Mercy Girls in Action

The Mercy Girls in Action have had a very busy few weeks preparing for FASHION FRIDAY. This term the girls put their thinking hats on and came up with an eco-friendly way to raise money for Zonta birthing kits. The Mercy Girls in Action combined the love of fashion and recycling to present to the school ‘Friday Fashion’. Students were asked to donate good quality second hand clothing they no longer use. The Mercy Girls expressed that by donating fashionable clothing you no longer wear you are recycling. Recycling second hand clothing means that less raw materials are needed, less energy is used and less pollution is generated. On 16 August the Mercy Girls in action set up a fashion stall and sold the clothing for a small cost. We are happy to announce that over $600 was raised and many girls got a bargain. A huge thank you to Ms Veukiso and her team for all their all hard work.

Princes’ House Mass

The House Masses are changing to weekdays as an inclusive measure to ensure that all members of the House have the opportunity to join together to celebrate the Eucharist. All House Masses will now be held on Wednesdays during school time. This week we will meet our new priest, Fr Siby, who will preside over mass for us. We welcome all parents and family members to attend.

Multicultural Mass – Sunday 25 August

Students and their families are warmly invited to attend the annual Multicultural Mass held Sunday 25 August from 10am at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Members from all over our diocese come together to celebrate the diversity in our Church. This Mass is known for its incredible singing, dancing and uplifting atmosphere. The members of the community and some of our girls have been very busy rehearsing to make this a special celebration. Following the Mass there will be music, dance and wonderful food dishes from all over the globe to share. We hope to see you at this celebration.

TOGETHER WE PRAY

God of Justice,

You have commissioned us to work as Christ’s hands and feet,

Help us labour for what is right, just and merciful.

Enable us to reach deep inside ourselves for character, courage, endurance and hope.

Bless us with a spirit of generosity, a merciful heart, and the grace to willingly serve you and others.

Amen.
