Creative Generation Townsville

We are thrilled that Year 11 Visual Art student Lucia Rentoule Gallagher was awarded one of two regional prizes at the Creative Generation Townsville show. The Excellence Award means that Lucia’s work will travel to Brisbane next year and be shown at QAGOMA. Lucia’s photo series was inspired by the artist Bill Henson and explores the twilight zone between youth and adulthood. Congratulations also to Ella Evans, Adata Namok and Aaliyah Logan who were selected for the show. This is the third year in a row St Patrick’s has won this prize at CGEN and Lucia is commended for her beautiful work

Townsville Eisteddfod

Congratulations to all of our students who have participated in the Townsville Eisteddfod this year. Adaptability has been the name of the game with different venues, altered times and cancelled sections influencing the program. Special mention must be made of our Percussion Ensemble and Taiko Drummers who impressed the adjudicator with their performances, receiving Second Place and Highly Commended respectively.  Best wishes also go to our Dance Troupe who will be representing the College on Sunday with their piece “African Rains”.

Congratulations to Year 11 student Kalani Guillien who placed 1st in Musical Theatre in the 16-18 years category, 1st in Humorous Poetry 16 years, 1st in Drama Improvisation in the 13-18 years category and 1st in Duologue. Kalani was also awarded the Trinity College Trophy for Speech & Drama for the most promising drama competitor 15 years and over.
