What an extraordinary year 2019 is shaping up to be!  We began with the unprecedented monsoonal event and its impact not only on our College but also on many of our homes and families. Of equal significance has been the ongoing delay to the construction of our new building on the East Precinct.

Perhaps the most surprising and unexpected news was the appointment of our Principal, Ms Paulina Skerman, to the leadership of the prestigious Dominican College of Santa Sabina in Sydney.  In recent weeks the Board has been attending to the process for the appointment of a new principal for St Patrick’s to take up the position at the commencement of the 2020 academic year.  Applications are currently being received and Interviews will take place in early September. I hope to be able to announce the appointment of the new principal prior to the close of Term 3.

The circumstances provide us with a graced time for consolidating good practice and initiating new possibilities for growth and ongoing renewal.  2020 will bring with it many challenges arising out of the delayed construction, but I have every confidence that the new Principal, supported by our very competent and committed leadership team will meet every challenge with effective planning and a gracious good will.

My prayer for our whole College community is that we continue to work together towards deepening and broadening the transformation of our beautiful College already so well begun over the past five years.
