NAPLAN

The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is the only nation-wide assessment of students’ literacy and numeracy skills. It provides parents important insights into their child’s progress at school, and helps governments, education authorities, and schools to see whether young Australians are reaching important literacy and numeracy goals. NAPLAN moved forward to March 2023 for the first time this year which means that results will be available to education authorities earlier in the year to inform the school and system teaching and learning programs. The College was well-prepared for the early arrival of NAPLAN this year with several testing opportunities both last year and earlier this year. These testing opportunities ensured students, staff, and our facilities were ready for NAPLAN and witnessed successful completion of the NAPLAN window during Term One. Congratulations to Year 7 and 9 students for your performance over these NAPLAN sessions.

REPORTS

Term One Interim Report Cards will be distributed in the holidays via email to all parents of students in Year 7 to 12.  These Interim Report cards are designed to provide an overview of behaviour and work ethic in each subject throughout Term One 2023. If your contact details have changed, please contact the College Office to update your details before the reports are distributed. The report is one of a number of strategies used to communicate with you about student progress. Expanded written comments for each assessment task will be provided in Student Café and Parent Lounge as part of continuous reporting on each assessment task.

Academic Conferences will be held in Term Two.  Bookings will open on Monday 3 April 2023 at 9am and can be made by accessing Parent Lounge and clicking Parent Teacher Interviews.

The two Academic Conference dates are:

–              Thursday, 27 April 2023 (3.30pm to 7.00pm)

–              Thursday, 4 May 2023 (3.30pm to 4.30pm)

Students must attend Academic Conferences with their parents/guardians in their academic uniform.  To prepare for this, all students have been emailed an Academic Conferencing Student Reflection Booklet.  This booklet is also available on the Learning Hub.
