{"id":28215,"date":"2025-06-10T13:15:18","date_gmt":"2025-06-10T03:15:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thebuzz.net.au\/shore-weekly-record\/?post_type=article&#038;p=28215"},"modified":"2025-06-13T10:53:56","modified_gmt":"2025-06-13T00:53:56","slug":"shabbots-camp-2","status":"publish","type":"article","link":"https:\/\/www.thebuzz.net.au\/shore-weekly-record\/article\/shabbots-camp-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Shabbot\u2019s Camp"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The June long weekend saw the CRU groups of Shore and Abbotsleigh combine for their annual camp known as Shabbot\u2019s. 70 Shore boys and 70 Abbotsleigh girls attended the camp from Friday night through to Sunday afternoon at the Galston CRU site. We had a wonderful weekend away with some insightful talks on the theme of <em>God Speaks We Listen<\/em>, reflective group discussion times, great games and a theme night with a dress-up theme of \u2018People We Listen To.\u2019 There were great times of fellowship and the deepening of relationships as well as a One Direction styled memory verse from John 1. One of the strengths of the camp is that it is almost entirely student-led. The boys and girls do a fantastic job not only in their preparation but also in the activities at camp. Some of these are up-front activities such as leading a big group session. However, many of the boys and girls continue to have discussions and reflections with the younger students at camp.
