After a well-earned summer break, our golfers returned to competition this week, many having spent their holidays sharpening their skills on the course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our Matchplay team faced Waverley at North Ryde Golf Club, eager to continue the strong form we displayed in Term 4. Despite a slow round on a crowded course and conceding at least six shots to their opponents in every match, our players put in a dominant performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our top seed, Luke Ellis<\/strong>, was in a strong position for much of his match but was unable to close out the win, ultimately halving his contest. Captain of Golf Harrison Graetz<\/strong> led by example with a commanding 6&5 victory, while Archie Frewin<\/strong> and Matthew Goddard<\/strong> secured wins of 5&4 and 7&6, respectively. This outstanding team performance extends our lead at the top of the table to eight points as we prepare for our next match against Newington.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Meanwhile, at Northbridge Golf Course, the remaining players contested the Monthly Medal strokeplay event. Zach France<\/strong>, Tom Gocher<\/strong>, and Lachlan Kwan<\/strong> also competed in the postponed final round of the Shore Strokeplay Championship, with Zach holding a four-shot lead heading into the round.
