Shore\u2019s First V had a disappointing display on Saturday vs The King\u2019s School (King\u2019s). Both teams came into the match-up tied in 3rd place, though King\u2019s was clearly the better team on the day. Early foul trouble saw the First V having to readjust lineups, and unfortunately, the foul count dictated how the game was played on the defensive end. Louis Pichler<\/strong> led the team in scoring with 19 points and Will Rintoul<\/strong> added another 16, though this was not enough, as Shore allowed King\u2019s to score a total of 105 points. Clearly, the focus of this week\u2019s practice will be half-court defence and on ball containment, leading into round 5 vs Sydney Grammar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Seconds were coming off a heartbreaking last-quarter defeat against powerhouse Riverview last week and were determined to get their season back on track. Shore surged into an early lead courtesy of some tough finishing from Jordan Gao<\/strong>, with Addison Webster<\/strong> also helping with a monstrous 7 rebounds in the first quarter to help Shore to a 14-7 lead. Shore would maintain their dominance throughout the game, winning every quarter to emerge as comfortable 67-42 victors.\u00a0 Jordan Gao<\/strong> top scored with 13 points, with Justin Polya<\/strong> also perfect from the field in his debut for the competition sides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Round 4 was a struggle for the Junior age groups, while the Opens had a dominant performance. Combined overall record 17-20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Player of the Week:<\/strong> Kingston Hsieh<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Team of the Week:<\/strong> The 14Hs are round 4\u2019s Team of the week. After a tough start to the season, the boys came into the game excited and ready to get a win. King\u2019s as the opposition were not going to let that happen easy, and though out the game, both teams were trading basket for basket. The score was tied with only a couple minutes left, and though the boys were tired, their intensity did not drop. Shore ended up pulling away with a tight 24-20 win led by a monster effort from Kingston Hsieh<\/strong> to tally a total of 18 points. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
