From 3.30 \u2013 5.00pm on Friday 15 November, Shore Music Department will host award-winning classical pianist and writer Mr Simon Tedeschi for the first instalment in our Music Masterclass Series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Described by the Sydney Morning Herald as \u201ctrue greatness\u201d, Simon Tedeschi is one of Australia\u2019s most prominent classical pianists. His host of accolades include Symphony Australia\u2019s Young Performer of the Year Award, the Legacy Award from the Creativity Foundation, first prize in the Keyboard division of the Royal Overseas League Competition, and a Centenary of Federation Medal. Tedeschi\u2019s writing has earned him publication in Seizure Magazine, Art Edit Magazine, SBS Feast Magazine, and the Sydney Morning Herald, and he was awarded the Calibre Prize (Australian Book Review) for his essay This Woman My Grandmother<\/em>. Tedeschi performs as a soloist with all the major Australian orchestras as well as Christchurch Symphony Orchestra and is noted to be a seasoned collaborator and chamber musician, appearing on-stage with Sydney Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster Andrew Haveron, flautist Sally Walker and jazz pianist Kevin Hunt. Tedeschi also holds a Masters Degree in Arts (Writing and Literature) degree from Deakin University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
