Friday 1 March 2024 – SOPAC, Homebush<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
As we build towards GPS 5, the number of point scoring events is increasing, and as a team we are stepping up, which is very encouraging. In particular, more PB\u2019s are being achieved, and a new GPS record was set.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A few noteworthy performances from the evening include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New GPS Record \u2013 Intermediate 4 x 50 metre Medley Relay<\/strong> \u2013 with the Intermediate boys \u2018putting on a clinic\u2019 in the 4 x 50 metre Medley Relay, the team of Will Bestic<\/strong> (Back), Harry Pollitt <\/strong>(Breast), Ethan Ng <\/strong>(Fly) and Noah McLaren<\/strong> (Free) clocking a time of 1:54.85. This time set a new benchmark in a GPS premier event. The boys now head to CIS in a very strong position to compete against CAS.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
400 metre Freestyles<\/strong> \u2013 a true \u2018captain\u2019s knock\u2019 from Jack Pollitt<\/strong> putting his hand up for the Seniors, along with great swims from Harry Ayer<\/strong> (4:40.21 \u2013 1st place), Ollie K<\/strong> (4:23.68 \u2013 2nd) and Noah McLaren<\/strong> (4:24.54 \u2013 4th) in the other age groups.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
The 200 metre Butterfly boys<\/strong> \u2013 always a tough event and only on offer once a season. We had Alexander F<\/strong> (Juniors \u2013 1st place), Ethan Ng<\/strong> (Intermediate \u2013 1st place), Hugo Stewart<\/strong> (Intermediate \u2013 5th) and Chase Harvey<\/strong> (Seniors \u2013 5th place) putting in a fantastic effort.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

Juniors <\/strong>\u2013 <\/strong>1st Place and tracking nicely!<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Intermediate <\/strong>\u2013 <\/strong>2nd Place behind Newington. After starting the evening 8 points behind, we have reeled that in, now being just one point behind!<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Seniors <\/strong>\u2013 <\/strong>Equal 4th place alongside Scots<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Open Relay <\/strong>\u2013 <\/strong>3rd place with Joeys and Scots equal 4th just 4 points behind\u2026 Huge battle incoming with Scots in the Open 4 x 50 metre Free Relay on Friday night at GPS 3.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
GPS 4 takes place tonight March 8, where we will look to really establish ourselves in the three age-based point scores. Then, the team will have a week off before heading into the final GPS 5 Carnival on Friday 22 March \u2013 the highlight of the AAGPS swimming season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
