Firsts

The Shore Firsts Tennis team has kept its good momentum going, enduring a physical training week filled with gym sessions and intense hitting. Starting the week with a Monday morning gym session, the boys began their week well. Throughout the Tuesday and Thursday training, the boys participated in a mix of doubles drills, with Oliver Wilcox and Felix Harrop also practising some singles. Going into the Saturday prepared against a solid Riverview team, the day was unfortunately ultimately rained out after hours of waiting and attempts to get on court. However, the boys are playing a high level of tennis and look to further their premiership lead with a win this week over rivals, King’s.

Seconds Report

Showcasing some exceptional tennis, Shore’s Seconds tennis team triumphed over Riverview 5-4. The number one pair, Josh Cottee and Oli De Kock made short work of their game-winning convincingly, showcasing exemplary skill and competition. The number two pair, Alex Yu and Taj Gupta, were victorious with a final score of 6-3, 6-1; this was achieved with aggressive volleying and strong returns. Unfortunately, the number three pair was unable to close out the game but fought hard and maintained determination throughout the match.

Due to the rain, none of the singles matches were finished. However, Shore showed impressive coverage of the court with multiple Shore players up a set. Shore deservedly claimed the win and the team is eager to win more next week.
