SPEC Update – October
The Shore Physical Education Centre (SPEC) build is well underway with excavation works nearing completing.
So far 115,000 tonnes of material have been removed from the site and a tower crane has been installed. The crane is 36m high with a boom length of 52 metres and a lifting capacity of 11 tonnes at the tip. The installation of in ground services and footings for the pool hall have commenced.
Major concrete pours are scheduled to commence in early November, followed by the delivery of precast concrete columns that will be lifted into the site by the crane.
Careful planning has taken place to ensure minimal disruption to boarding students with deliveries and truck movements, particularly around the HSC exam timetable.
