I’m A Proud Kamilaroi Man
My name is Braydon Mundy and I am a proud Kamilaroi man. My Mob are from the beautiful North West of NSW. The Kamilaroi tribe are the second largest group in the Eora nation. I am now living on Gumbaynggirr land in Coffs Harbour
For NAIDOC week I was asked to draw a design for the lapel ribbons. I wanted the ribbon to symbolise a part of the land in which SHORE is located which is the Cammeraygal people, who are water and sea peoples. I used the circles and the lines connecting them to symbolise this water. I also wanted the ribbons to portray NAIDOC week and this is done through replacing the O in SHORE with the NAIDOC symbol which is displayed in the final design.
Harmony week is in Week 8 of this term from the 15th-19th of March. This week celebrates Australia’s cultural diversity. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone. I hope everybody can get behind this.
