Cadets AFX

There has been a buzz around the house as year 9 and 10 boys prepare for the upcoming cadet camp. After a semester of training in orienteering, drills, parade and survival skills, these young men finally have the opportunity to put their skills into practice. The camp will involve a range of activities, with the target of developing skills such as orienteering, teamwork, problem solving and logical thinking. Cadets will be motivated to work together to achieve goals, and encouraged to listen to each other’s suggestions as they solve problems as a group.

The cadet camp will be conducted within Singleton’s army base, taking place between Sunday and Thursday this coming week.  All year 9 boarders will be attending, along with a selection of year 10 boys, who have taken up positions of leadership within the unit.  Among the staff attending the camp will be Major Henniker, a Hodges housemaster 2020.
