This was a fun and creative team writing competition with some very unique aspects:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It involved a collaborative team effort, where students planned, wrote and illustrated a book<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Each story grew from a unique set of parameters that were given to each writing team at the start of the day<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The book was to be completed within 12 hours, between 8am and 8pm.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Completed books were shared digitally with children in hospitals across Australia.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students were also encouraged to fundraise for the Kids\u2019 Cancer Project. All sponsorship funds raised went toward scientific research to discover better treatments, and ultimately, a cure for children with cancer. Our teams raised a total of $775.33 \u2013 well done, girls!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">St Ursula\u2019s Team 1 wrote the book titled \u2018<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1K1YjkTL2G4nuh8pQV6Xtu5ITIzDNjmSV\/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Radioactive Rivalry: A Fishy Business<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2019. Team 1\u2019s parameters were:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Primary characters \u2013 Environmental scientist and spy<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Non-human character \u2013 Goldfish<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Setting \u2013 Abandoned house<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Issue \u2013 Magical headphones<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Random words \u2013 ruby, melts, shiver, tasty, sponge<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">According to illustrators Gabriella Saliba and Ava Crowley-Sweet: Radioactive Rivalry is a story about an environmental scientist named Billy and a spy named Ivy, who are investigating an abandoned house. They have to learn to work together, despite their strong rivalry, to solve a mystery about an unnatural red lake near the abandoned house.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">St Ursula\u2019s Team 2 wrote the book titled <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1i6RcIXHjFRwKO7DERFDiHBRScGioD1mp\/view?usp=sharing\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2018<\/span><b>Ruby Red<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2019<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. Team 2\u2019s parameters were:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Primary characters \u2013 TV star and cricketer<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Non-human character \u2013 alpaca<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Setting \u2013 Tennis court<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Issue \u2013 Heatwave<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Random words \u2013 ruby, melts, shiver, tasty, sponge<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">According to writers Jacinta Shori and Eden Vonhoff: The book is about a girl named Jessica whose entire life revolved around cricket. The story starts after she misses an important game.
