Year 9’s Great Aussie Bush Camp adventure

Year 9’s Great Aussie Bush Camp adventure

Last week, Year 9 ventured north to The Great Aussie Bush Camp at Kincumber, to unite as a cohort and join in some remarkable team activities. Each activity challenged girls to go beyond their comfort zone and promoted resilience as they encouraged each other to ‘have a go.’

Exciting activities and challenges to test problem-solving skills

The activities included Lost Island’s Mud World, Survivor Challenge, High Ropes, Abseiling, The Giant Swing, Leap of Faith and Power Fan. As well as the physical challenge that each base presented, all these activities required many problem-solving skills, which the girls mastered.

All of Year 9 took part in the Commando Night game, where girls had to navigate the bush terrain with a torch. This proved to be a highlight for many.

With glorious weather and enthusiastic instructors, the camp was indeed a success.

A huge thank you to Ms Gant for initiating the camp and for coming along, to Mrs Maureen Wilson for her administration and to the Pastoral Care teachers who happily joined in: Ms Guan, Mr Hall, Ms Grady, Mrs Hespe, Mrs Penfold and Mr Di Lizio. Special thanks to Mrs Watson for her wonderful organisation. Happy campers all!
