Year 10 takes a glimpse into the future

Year 10 takes a glimpse into the future

Over the last few weeks, Year 10 have participated in a variety of activities organised by our magnificent teachers, who I would like to personally thank on behalf of our cohort. Their commitment and genuine effort has allowed the transition program to be as memorable as it has been.

An exploration of future possibilities and important skills

We tried everything from taster lessons into our future Year 11 and 12 classes, to exploring the careers of successful role models, to learning how to change a tyre. Plus there was a series of one-day workshops to equip us with some successful skills, like First Aid. Not to mention a yoga class, which I think we can all agree was very physically challenging!

I was one of the very fortunate girls able to visit the Ella Baché Beauty College in Artarmon, where we spoke with CEO Pippa Hallas about the history of the company, and their overall purpose. We had the opportunity to receive a facial from the students currently attending the College, which was incredibly relaxing and exciting when we saw our glowing faces. The College then outlined which courses were available to us young students and the pathways that they would lead to within the beauty industry. As the day was nearing the end, we were all gifted skin-care products by the lovely women, which was of course, very exciting.

The transition program has been an undoubtedly beneficial experience for every single girl; providing us with comfort, important lessons, engaging activities and the perfect way to end our final weeks as Year 10 students!
