Full STEAM ahead for students at Koori camp

From 9 to 11 December, three St Ursula’s students attended a Koori STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and maths) camp. The camp proved a great way to make friends and immerse ourselves in the Koori culture.

Jessie Marie’s favourite activity was the string art workshop, where we explored the relationship between geometrical shapes and Indigenous art and storytelling. She liked it very much, as it presented her with a hands-on opportunity to draw, which she loves.

Audrey found the forensic science workshop particularly interesting. In this workshop, she had to follow federal police procedures for a suspected drug importation.

Eden liked the video game coding workshop, in which students coded a small game using the Scratch coding program, and found great satisfaction in having to assist Mr Horder in the creation of his mini game!

We all thoroughly enjoyed the camp and the extensive connection to culture that it brought.
