Return and Earn launched at St Ursula’s

Return and Earn launched at St Ursula’s

After much preparation, including a pitch to the College Leadership Team, and months of hard work, the Student Environmental Action Club (SEA Club) is thrilled to introduce a Return and Earn program to St Ursula’s.

What is Return and Earn?

You may be aware that on the side of most plastic water bottles, glass bottles and aluminium cans there is a recycling symbol with ‘10c’ printed beside it. Rather than throwing these items away, SEA Club is inviting you to dispose of them in the College Return and Earn bins under the Salo building.

What will we do with the money raised?

It will initially be used to repay the cost of the new bins. It will then go towards exciting in-school initiatives, such as a new hydration station for the Senior garden and donations to drought/fire-affected areas of NSW. The possibilities are endless.

Earn House points too!

The Return and Earn bins are also including in the House Cup competition. Each House colour will gain points for how many recyclables received, with the points tallied and added to the final House Cup results. This will help the College community become more sustainable, reducing our carbon footprint, but also integrating a friendly competition to see which colour house can be the most sustainable.

Keep an eye out for reminders and new information from SEA Club in the daily notices. Posters will also be displayed around the College as a reminder.
