Nine students compete at CGSSSA Tennis Day

On Monday 23 November, nine students proudly represented the College at the CGSSSA Tennis Day at Barton Tennis Centre in North Parramatta. The students were excellent ambassadors for the College and competed very well in all three competition levels. They deserve to be commended for their sportsmanship and skill.

The students were:

Year 7 – Lara Talevski, Brianna Serrao and Paige Corbo

Year 9 – Jade Talevski, Anastasia Bebonis, Mya Kazzi, Altea Manigsaca and Jaytita Sawatdipruksa

Year 11 – Mikayla Kazzi

Junior Division

Lara Talevski played in the Junior Singles Division and made it to the Semi-Finals, losing a tight contest to OLSH Kensington. 

She won every match up until that stage, with victories over Mount St Joseph Milperra, Bethlehem Ashfield, Monte North Sydney, Santa Sabina Strathfield and Marist Sisters Woolwich.

Paige Corbo and Breanna Serrao represented the College in the Junior Doubles Division and played Mount St Joseph Milperra, Bethany Hurstville, Santa Sabina Strathfield and OLSH Kensington.

Intermediate Division

Jade Talevski played in the Intermediate Singles Division and lost in the Final to Domremy College Five Dock. She was a very worthy runner-up.

She won every match up until the final, with victories over Loreto Kirribilli, Bethlehem Ashfield, OLSH Kensington and Marist Sisters Woolwich.

Jade had previously won the Junior Division in both 2018 and 2019.

Mya Kazzi and Anastasia Bebonis represented the College in the Intermediate Doubles Division and defeated Trinity Auburn, with close losses to Marist Sisters Woolwich and Loreto Kirribilli.

Senior Division

Mikayla Kazzi played in the Senior Singles Division and finished equal second in the competition on a first-past-the-post basis, as both Senior pools were merged to accommodate seven schools.

Mikayla had wins over Marist Sisters Woolwich, St Clare’s Waverley, Bethlehem Ashfield and Santa Sabina Strathfield. She lost to the eventual winner Monte Sant’Angelo North Sydney.

Altea Manigsaca and Jaytita  Sawatdipruksa represented the College in the Senior Doubles Division, even though they are both only in Year 9, and they won some and lost some of their matches against Monte Sant’Angelo North Sydney, Santa Sabina Strathfield, Marist Sisters Woolwich, Loreto Kirribilli, St Clare’s Waverley and Bethlehem Ashfield.
