Igniting the gifts of the Spirit in each and every student

Igniting the gifts of the Spirit in each and every student

Term 3 is filled with wonderful opportunities to help form your daughter’s faith beyond the College.

All Youth Ministry activities are posted in the Daily Notices and on the Classroom page each week, so we ask all our students to get involved and ignite the spirit within.

Youth Engagement Forum

On Wednesday 29 July, Bianca Stanghieri, College Captain, Sarah Mok, College Vice-Captain, and the Year 11 and 12 Mirrabooka leaders were involved in a Question and Answer session with the Executive Director of Sydney Catholic Schools, Mr Tony Farley.

The girls responded to questions around:

  • How COVID-19 has affected their lives?
  • What challenges, impacts, and changes have they had to endure and adapt to?
  • What strategies they have had to introduce to keep moving forward with gusto, hope, and enthusiasm.

Our leaders brought a lot of the “lived” experiences to the surface as well as their goals, hopes and aspirations and how they have learnt to be resilient during these tough unprecedented times.

Faith was mentioned, as an anchor, that by having Jesus as “our shield and refuge’” nothing can break us.

The girls paid tribute to their many teachers who have been the motivating force in helping them to believe in their abilities, keeping them balanced, and always checking in on their overall wellbeing.

St Ursula’s Day – 27 August 2020

Today, during our live-streamed College assembly, we launched our major fundraiser for the year. On St Ursula’s Day, the College will participate in a Walkathon to raise funds to support our Ursuline sisters in Cambodia. Your daughter will receive a Sponsor Donation Card and a letter will be sent to all families during week 4 to explain the logistics of the day.

On St Ursual’s Day, the Walkathon will be combined with a School Mass, dedicated to our patron Saint Ursula, and a Market Fair organised by our Year 10 Commerce students.

Thank you for your support of all our Youth Ministry activities.

I would like to leave you with a prayer of hope by the World Council of Churches to renew our strength and keep us connected.
