Chefs return to the kitchen

As we move towards normal College operations, we know our TAS and VET students will be excited to recommence their practical lessons from Week 5.

How we will keep students and staff safe

The following hygiene, safety and sanitation practices will be in place.

Students will be expected to:

  • Complete OnGuard safety training
  • Supply their own food containers, cutlery, aprons and tea towels for personal use
  • Maintain and practice frequent hand washing when preparing foods, after going to the bathroom, and after touching their face or hair
  • Maintain thorough cleaning and sanitising of work spaces and equipment
  • Inform their teacher if feeling unwell
  • Maintain adequate social spacing when possible
  • Not share food or ingredients
  • Use only the food and equipment allocated to them.
Staff will:
  • Reinforce personal and environmental hygiene practices
  • Regularly sanitise high touch areas
  • Prepare and portion individual ingredients for each student
  • Monitor and enforce student expectations.
Please note that any student who is unwell will be unable to participate in food practical lessons.
