It’s time to celebrate our Junior students!

It’s time to celebrate our Junior students!

Learning interruptions due to COVID-19 during Semester 1 have meant changes to the kinds of assessments students needed to undertake (from summative to formative) and the College leadership Team therefore made a flow-on decision not to award students for academic excellence and academic achievement.

Recognising merit

As we believe our hardworking students should still be recognised, it was decided to award students for academic merit, based purely on their classwork and common formative tasks.

The Academic Merit Award is class-based and teacher-nominated. It does not necessarily reflect academic ability in the subject.

Congratulations to the awardees
A full list of Year 7 to 10 Award recipients can be viewed here.

Gallery of winners

It was disappointing that our parents and carers could not attend the Year assemblies in Week 1, due to current government restrictions.

However, I’m sure you will really enjoy these photos by our Year 11 photography students, Jade Quarta and Anastasia Rehayem:

Hopefully, we can return to some form of normality by the end of Semester 2. We look forward to our St Ursula’s community gathering again in the Merici Centre.
