The College recently celebrated the outstanding results of the HSC Class of 2019 at our High Achievers Assembly.

In 2019, St Ursula’s College continued to build on its academic strength supported by our unique Ursuline Learning Framework (ULF).

Our 2019 HSC results are testament to our ULF and the commitment of our staff and students to teaching and learning excellence. Our 2019 Year 12 class has produced outstanding results in the Higher School Certificate and will no doubt continue to do so beyond College. 

Here is a snapshot of their achievements:

Five students gained a place in the State and were mentioned in the NESA Top Achievers list of 2019:

  • Liesel Heiss – 2nd in the State for HSC VET Entertainment
  • Antonia Tsoukalas – 4th in the State for Modern Greek Beginners
  • Isabella Russo – 9th in the State for English Standard
  • Alyssa Simone -9th in the State for Studies of Religion 1
  • Victoria Morton – 20th in the State for English Standard

In the 2019 Higher School Certificate, over 97% of our HSC course results were above the NSW State average:

  • 10 of our students were named in the State All Rounder’s Merit list, having scored a Band 6 or equivalent in 10 or more of their subject units
  • 79 students were named on the NSW Distinguished Achievers 201 times for receiving Band 6 scores in their selected subjects
  • 154 students – just over 90% of the cohort –  achieved a Band 5 or equivalent in one or more courses.

Outstanding, exemplary student work was recognised in Visual Arts, with two students, Isabel Ray and Jessica Michael, nominated for the prestigious ARTEXPRESS exhibition. Isabel’s series of paintings entitled “Pastorale” will also be entered into the Clancy Prize and Jessica Michaels’ series of drawings entitled “Tatya and Jido”  will be exhibited at the Art Gallery of NSW.

As part of Sydney Catholic Schools, the Class of 2019 achieved some outstanding results within the Diocese:

  • The College was ranked in the top 3 among all Sydney Catholic secondary schools. 
  • Our 2019 students also achieved a number of 1st in Course in Sydney Catholic Schools namely:
    • Taylor Colligan – Physics
    • Giuliana De Bellis – Economics
    • Lucy Hughes – Ext 2 English
    • Katia Liaros – Studies of Religion 1
    • Natalie Pergola – Modern History
    • Alyssa Simone – Studies of Religion 1
    • Anastasia Toumasatos – Modern Greek Continuers

The College has consistently ranked in the top 100 schools in New South Wales, this year ranking 66th.

All-rounders HSC 2019
All-round Achievers

All-round Achievers are students who have achieved a result in the highest band possible (Band 6 or Band E4) in 10 or more units of courses in their HSC. Our 2019 “All-rounders” were:

One in four of our 2019 HSC students attained an ATAR of 90 or above.
