{"id":9932,"date":"2023-02-23T11:06:29","date_gmt":"2023-02-23T00:06:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thebuzz.net.au\/sceggs\/?post_type=article&#038;p=9932"},"modified":"2023-02-23T11:06:29","modified_gmt":"2023-02-23T00:06:29","slug":"visual-arts-65","status":"publish","type":"article","link":"https:\/\/www.thebuzz.net.au\/sceggs\/article\/visual-arts-65\/","title":{"rendered":"Visual Arts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A fortnight ago Ms Allum and Ms Gyton were asked during the Year 7 Parent Information Evening to assist in making a creative problem for an Art student to solve using the key values and attitudes taught in the SCEGGS Art classroom such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Planning<\/li>\n<li>Critical thinking<\/li>\n<li>Problem solving<\/li>\n<li>Initiative and persistence<\/li>\n<li>Confidence<\/li>\n<li>Ingenuity<\/li>\n<li>Imagination<\/li>\n<li>Innovation<\/li>\n<li>Creativity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here is Ms Allum\u2019s and Ms Gyton\u2019s work:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-9933 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/d1dfwahqlx324v.cloudfront.net\/uploads\/sites\/56\/2023\/02\/Mr-Squiggle-e1676932068830.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And here is Imogen Zimmerle\u2019s response:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-9934 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/d1dfwahqlx324v.cloudfront.net\/uploads\/sites\/56\/2023\/02\/Zimmerle_Imogen_2023-e1676932161177.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"418\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>What is so impressive about Imogen\u2019s drawing is that beyond its technical skill, meticulous execution, and the sensitive use of the media, is the resourcefulness and confidence to transform a few lines on a blank field of paper into such evocative imagery that is so compelling for the viewer!<\/p>\n<p>Imogen has illustrated (literally) that the act of making art develops so many essential skills, particularly problem solving and the ability to come up with ideas and develop them. These are not only valuable assets in the Art classroom but across all learning areas at school and especially sought after in the 21st century workplace.<\/p>\n<p>Imogen has, through her drawing, invoked our curiosity and engaged our thinking and imagination.
