In gardening club, we acknowledged this by making Saltbush Soda Bread from the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden.\u00a0 We discussed the importance of saltbush for Indigenous People as both a cooking ingredient and for medicinal purposes. A comparison was done on the difference fragrances you get from fresh saltbush (out of our bush tucker garden) and the dried variety. The girls hands got messy mixing the dough and then we enjoyed our hot bread with butter and honey.
