As part of the Year 11 retreat in Week 3, students were invited to participate in an en plein air<\/em> watercolour painting session during the three days. En plein air<\/em> is a technique pioneered by the French Impressionists whereby artists paint outdoors directly at the scene. We were presented with an incredible vista across the Southern Highlands with a remarkable fleeting light to capture and explore. This week\u2019s banner is one of Matisse Asher\u2019s work from the retreat and below are some examples of students’ work.<\/p>\n
