{"id":4768,"date":"2021-05-27T13:51:48","date_gmt":"2021-05-27T02:51:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thebuzz.net.au\/sceggs\/?post_type=article&#038;p=4768"},"modified":"2021-05-27T13:51:48","modified_gmt":"2021-05-27T02:51:48","slug":"year-8-technology-built-for-assembly-toy-challenge","status":"publish","type":"article","link":"https:\/\/www.thebuzz.net.au\/sceggs\/article\/year-8-technology-built-for-assembly-toy-challenge\/","title":{"rendered":"Year 8 Technology &#8220;Built for Assembly Toy Challenge&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In Semester 1 the Year 8 Technology students\u2019 design challenge was to collaborate in small teams, use CAD and CAM technologies to design and make, a &#8220;built for assembly toy&#8221; for the children in the Rik Reay primary school in Northern Cambodia.<\/p>\n<p>The SCEGGS community has a strong connection with the &#8220;Let\u2019s Build a School&#8221; organisation through its director, Chris Gleisner. This program provides educational equipment, facilities, volunteers, and ongoing financial support for students in remote rural areas of Cambodia.<\/p>\n<p>Chris Gleisner spoke to all of Year 8 in Term 1 about Cambodian culture and the Rik Reay primary school enlightening students to the needs of rural communities in Cambodia.
