\n<\/a>Australian Cross Country Championships<\/strong><\/h4>\nCongratulations to our SCEGGS elite running team who competed at the Australian Cross Country Championships that were held in Ballarat last week. The course was a real test of endurance after days of heavy rain turned it into an absolute mud fest.<\/p>\n
All our students achieved some excellent results despite battling injuries, thick mud and HSC studies:<\/p>\n

Head Coach Rachel and Coach Madison (SCEGGS Old Girl) are so pleased with the way the gymnasts showed their skills, but more importantly, shared their joy and enjoyment with the supportive audience.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/a>Water Polo<\/strong><\/h4>\nA big shout out to Sophia Carroll (Year 10) who has had a very busy year with her Water Polo.<\/p>\n
Sophia was selected in the Australian Under 16 Water Polo Squad earlier this year. She trained as part of the national program in the lead-up to selection of the team for the World Championships.<\/p>\n
She then represented Sydney University Water Polo Club at the Australian Youth Championships (AYC), where her team won the U16s title.<\/p>\n
Sophia also travelled to the United States to compete at the Junior Olympics\/US National championships where she competed against leading junior water polo teams from across the USA where her team ended up placing 9th.<\/p>\n
She is currently training with the NSW U17 team for the National Championships. Sophia has seen significant progression in her development as a player and we are excited to see Sophia in action for SCEGGS in Term 4.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Netball<\/strong><\/h4>\nSCEGGS 8 Netball had a great win on Saturday under the watchful eye of Ms Gyton. They defeated PLC Sydney 30 -26.<\/p>\n
A shout out to SCEGGS 15 who won a thrilling match against Tara on the weekend 13-12. \u00a0Coach Annie and Molly should be congratulated on their leadership and encouragement of this team. Saturday\u2019s game was a stellar performance showing teamwork, persistence and sheer determination. \u00a0Both teams showed exemplary grace and played in the spirit of netball.<\/p>\n
