\u00a0<\/h4>\n<\/a>Junior IGSA<\/strong><\/h4>\nWe are delighted to announce that SCEGGS will be a founding member of the new IGSA Junior Sport Program, launching in January 2027.<\/p>\n
This exciting initiative brings together 19 leading girls’ schools across New South Wales to provide high-quality sporting opportunities for students in Years 3\u20136. The program will include weekly Saturday sport competitions, sport-specific carnivals, and representative pathways, creating a more connected and enriching sporting experience for junior girls.<\/p>\n
Developed collaboratively by IGSA schools, the program has been designed to provide greater consistency, structure, and support across junior sport while fostering a lifelong love of physical activity.<\/p>\n
At its heart, the program focuses on participation, skill development, and enjoyment\u2014key elements in the formative years of a girl’s sporting journey. By placing girls at the centre of sport, it recognises the important role that physical activity plays in building confidence, resilience, teamwork, leadership, and a commitment to personal excellence.<\/p>\n
SCEGGS is proud to be part of this new model, designed exclusively for girls and committed to creating an environment where every student feels a sense of belonging, is encouraged to participate, and has the opportunity to develop, and thrive through sport.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Saturday Sport Review<\/strong><\/h4>\nSaturday morning sport began under grey skies and steady rain. While the wet weather unfortunately saw the Year 3 Netball fixtures cancelled, two IPSHA Touch Football teams took to the field.<\/p>\n
The 4A team continued their outstanding start to the season with another dominant performance, defeating Tara 9\u20130. Their speed and teamwork were on full display as they controlled the game from start to finish.<\/p>\n
The 5A team faced a much tougher contest against Newington. With just 10 minutes remaining, the scores were locked at 4\u20134 and the game could have gone either way. The SCEGGS girls lifted the intensity and their efforts paid off as they crossed for four quick tries in the closing stages to secure an impressive 8\u20134 victory.<\/p>\n
It was particularly pleasing to see the girls listening carefully to their coaches, quickly applying feedback, and making noticeable improvements to their tactics. We look forward to seeing this momentum continue throughout the season!<\/p>\n

Competing in the ESTA competition for the very first time, Alice and her doubles partner enjoyed a remarkable debut season, remaining undefeated throughout the competition before going on to win the Grand Final. Congratulations to Alice on this well-deserved success and look forward to following her future achievements on the court.<\/p>\n
