Thanks to all of those within our community that have been sending messages of support and offering a helping hand as we continue through a difficult time in the life of the School. Someone said to me recently that as hard and horrible as it is, the strength of the community comes to the forefront in a situation like this. I am extremely appreciative for all that you give to make SCEGGS what it is.<\/p>\n
As I travel around to different community centres, speak to their staff and engage with people living on the street, it certainly seems like our city is hitting crisis point. More and more people are seeking help with food, clothing, bills and just someone to hear their story of struggle. I am encouraged by the willingness of our community to donate towards the lives of the underprivileged in our area. You can always email me<\/a> if you have something you would like to give but uncertain about where it should go.\u00a0<\/p>\n At the moment, there is a huge call out for grocery items to help fill the food pantries of certain welfare organizations. Some of the specific items that are being requested are:<\/p>\n UHT milk, tea bags, coffee, cereal, tuna, salmon, baked beans, spaghetti, noodles, tinned vegetables, spreads, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothpaste.<\/p>\n There is a basket inside my office where items can be placed anytime. You may also leave any donations at the General Office with my name on it. We will also be running our annual Hoodies, Trackies and Blankies Drive soon and more information will be coming out soon.<\/p>\n
