Dear Members of the School Community<\/p>\n

On behalf of the School Board, I send our best wishes to all in our\u00a0community at the beginning of the new school year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

We extend a very warm welcome to those new to\u00a0the\u00a0School this year and hope that you all feel settled as\u00a0quickly as possible. We are all part of a wonderful school with a vibrant and supportive community\u00a0and we wish you all the very best as you begin your\u00a0educational experience at SCEGGS Darlinghurst.\u00a0<\/p>\n

We also extend a warm welcome to Ms Holly Gyton in her new role as Head of School as she brings her intellect, passion for education and deep commitment to SCEGGS into her new role.<\/p>\n

It is important to note at the outset that the Board does not have a role in the day-to-day running of the School. We set the long-term strategic direction for the School and support the Head as she executes the mission, vision and strategy of our School.\u00a0 We acknowledge the importance of good governance in all our undertakings and aim to provide broad, comprehensive and modern governance of the School.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The\u00a0School\u00a0is owned and operated by SCEGGS Darlinghurst Limited,\u00a0a company limited by guarantee. All adults within the SCEGGS\u00a0community are eligible for membership, including parents, Old Girls,\u00a0staff,\u00a0friends\u00a0and benefactors.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The cost of membership is $100; your\u00a0membership will last for six years and can be made in the form of a\u00a0payment or donation. All members receive a copy of the Annual\u00a0Report and may vote at the AGM.\u00a0 Applications for membership are sent to every person who donates\u00a0to the SCEGGS Trust and to anyone who enquires about\u00a0membership. It is a great idea to join the company; doing so shows\u00a0your support for the\u00a0School\u00a0and, at the same time, acknowledges the ownership\u00a0structure of the company which is so clearly vested in our\u00a0community and the School\u2019s success.\u00a0<\/p>\n
