The Bourke Street Car Line is a key part of our dismissal process and, when used as intended, allows pick-up to run smoothly, safely and efficiently for everyone.<\/p>\n<p>With a shared understanding of expectations, and a little patience, we can establish positive routines early and ensure the Car Line remains a safe environment for students, staff and families each afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>What helps the Car Line run well?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>For a safe and efficient dismissal, we ask families to please note the following:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Pick-up times are staggered to support traffic flow:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<table style=\"border-collapse: collapse;width: 100%\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 50%\">2.55 pm for Kindergarten to Year 2<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 50%\">3.10pm for Years 3 to 6<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 50%\">Please do not arrive earlier than the designated pick-up time. If you do, you will be asked to circle around the block.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Year 6 pick-up arrangements<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>To assist with traffic flow, Year 6 students are asked to be collected from Forbes Street where possible. This approach helps reduce congestion and supports a more efficient dismissal for all families.<br \/>\nFamilies are welcome to continue using Bourke Street if a Year 6 student has a younger sibling being collected from the Primary School.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Remain in your vehicle at all times<\/strong>. Staff on duty will assist your daughter to her car and ensure a safe departure.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Join the queue correctly from the northern end of Bourke Street.<\/strong> Double parking or cutting in on the Car Line is not permitted and causes significant disruption and creates safety concerns.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Move forward in the queue as space becomes available.<\/strong> Keeping gaps to a minimum helps traffic move steadily.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Display your daughter\u2019s name sign clearly.<\/strong> If you need a replacement, please contact the <a href=\"mailto:Primary@sceggs.nsw.edu.au\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Primary Office<\/a> \u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Follow staff directions.<\/strong> Teachers on duty have a clear view of the overall flow and are best placed to guide vehicles safely.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Encourage students to enter vehicles promptly.<\/strong> Students should enter from the kerb side with bags placed on the seat rather than in the boot.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Minimise distractions<\/strong>. Avoid phone calls during Car Line time so your full attention remains on safety.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Use the pedestrian crossing.<\/strong> Families arriving or leaving on foot are asked to use the Bourke Street pedestrian crossing. For safety reasons, please do not cross between vehicles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We all share a responsibility in keeping dismissal arrangements efficient. A calm and consistent approach from families makes a significant difference.
