Ashley received her award last week at the <em>Police and Justice Museum <\/em>for her essay, <em>The Woman\u2019s World Moves: Conflicting Strategies in Australian Women\u2019s Activism<\/em>, which was judged best in New South Wales in the <em>Australian Women&#8217;s History <\/em>category.<\/p>\n<p>The National History Challenge provides an opportunity for students to design an historical investigation into a particular theme, with this year\u2019s theme being <em>Conflict and Resolution. <\/em>In her abstract, Ashley explains how her essay addresses the theme:<\/p>\n<div class=\"highlight\">\n<p><em>The Australian Women\u2019s Movement took different approaches to pacifism during and after World War I. This essay looks at tensions between the Sisterhood of International Peace and the Women\u2019s Peace Army arguing conflict between their approaches remained long after the resolution of the war.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Congratulations Ashley on your exceptional historical scholarship!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>History Department<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Congratulations to Ashley Diec in Year 10 who is a\u00a0state winner in the National History Challenge for 2025.
