Named in honour of an Old Girl and former English teacher (respectively), these prizes are awarded at Speech Night and are a wonderful way of celebrating the writing of our students. Winning entries and extracts of commended pieces are also published each year in <em>Lux<\/em>\u00a0magazine.<\/p>\n<p class=\"my-2 [&amp;+p]:mt-4 [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:inline-block [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:pb-2\">Students are invited to submit work that they have completed in class or worked on independently over the year. Each year, we are thrilled to receive so many entries from the talented writers at SCEGGS. The closing date for entries is <em><strong>Term 4,<\/strong><\/em> <em><strong>Week 2 (Friday 24 October)<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"my-2 [&amp;+p]:mt-4 [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:inline-block [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:pb-2\">Students can follow the link\u00a0<a class=\"hover:text-super hover:decoration-super break-words underline decoration-from-font underline-offset-1 transition-all duration-300\" href=\"https:\/\/sceggs.instructure.com\/courses\/1610\/pages\/english-competitions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">here<\/a>\u00a0to read the instructions, upload their work, and view winning entries from previous years.<\/p>\n<h4>\u00a0<\/h4>\n<h4><strong>Red Room\u2019s Poetry Forest Competition<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Red Room\u2019s Poetry Forest Competition encourages students to compose poems with a positive message on climate change.
