This year\u2019s Market Day was a vibrant showcase of creativity, culture, and community spirit, hosted by our Year 10 Commerce students as part of the\u00a0Running a Business<\/em> unit. On Monday 8 September, the JF Terrace transformed into a bustling outdoor marketplace, where 18 student-led businesses brought the theme \u201cAround the World<\/strong>\u201d<\/em>\u00a0 to life.<\/p>\n

From the aromatic spices of Egypt to the bold flavors of Mexico, students offered a delightful array of international foods and handmade products inspired by countries including Vietnam, the USA, the UK, and many more. The event was not only a celebration of global diversity but also a powerful learning experience in entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n

Learning Through Doing<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Market Day gave students the chance to step into the shoes of real-world business owners\u2014planning, problem-solving, and serving customers with professionalism and flair. As Year 10 students Taylor Mavrakis and Sophia Quick shared:<\/p>\n

\u201cMarket Day allowed us to step outside our comfort zones and experience what it’s like to run a functioning business. From the planning process to problem-solving, and eventually to serving customers, we all learned such valuable skills that will help us in the future.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
