{"id":17736,"date":"2024-10-24T11:07:35","date_gmt":"2024-10-24T00:07:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thebuzz.net.au\/sceggs\/?post_type=article&#038;p=17736"},"modified":"2024-10-24T11:07:35","modified_gmt":"2024-10-24T00:07:35","slug":"giving-day-2024","status":"publish","type":"article","link":"https:\/\/www.thebuzz.net.au\/sceggs\/article\/giving-day-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Giving Day 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Thanks to the generous support of the SCEGGS community, we have raised over $11 million towards creating a state-of-the-art learning facility in the redeveloped Wilkinson House. <\/span>This includes revitalised classrooms, a wonderful Year 12 common room, flexible Academic Support facilities, provides a culturally appropriate space to support our Indigenous students and extends our Sports Hall facilities.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Why Give?<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>We are very grateful to the SCEGGS families and supporters who have contributed and support the need to invest in the school for the SCEGGS girls of today and tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p><em>We gave to the Light Her Path campaign upon becoming new parents at SCEGGS. We believe strongly in a SCEGGS education for our daughter because of its inclusivity, diversity and core focus of helping each girl reach their full potential. SCEGGS&#8217; inner-city location, relatively small size in student numbers and non-selective enrolment policy &#8211; can\u2019t be underestimated.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 6 Family<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>How to Give<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>On 7 November 2024, from 9am we are hosting our third Giving Day. Giving Day brings our whole school community together for 24 hours of giving once a year, to pay it forward for the future, while honouring the generosity of past generations.<\/p>\n<p>Over 500 donors have come together to support the Light Her Path campaign since launching in 2018 and we encourage every member of our community to participate.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>All Donations Will Be Matched<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Members of our parent and SCEGGS community have very generously offered to match donations on the day.
