The three selections from this work were accompanied by Samantha Millin (Year 11) on French Horn and Georgia Cate Baker Wood (Year 10) on Oboe and featured Vocal Vignettes from Sienna Taylor (Year 12), Bridgette Dunlop (Year 12), Amber Jarman (Year 11) and Zara Perkins (Year 10). The powerful combination of sacred text carried on soaring melodies over harmonies reminiscent of film scoring has quickly made this work a favourite of our Choral Program Students.<\/p>\n<p>Our singers are now preparing for their next performance on the evening of Thursday April 11 at 6pm at Musicale 2 themed <em>Songs of the Silver Screen. <\/em>This showcase of music from the world of film includes choral music spanning from the nuns in <em>Sister Act <\/em>to legendary film composer John Williams\u2019 <em>Amistad<\/em> score. All SCEGGS\u2019 families are very welcome to attend this concert in the SCEGGS\u2019 Great Hall featuring our string, band, choral and percussion ensembles.<\/p>\n<p>With choral \u2018gigs\u2019 singing with Sydney Grammar, Katie Noonan, Sydney Symphony Orchestra and The Cat Empire and an opportunity to perform at the Sydney Opera House coming up there has never been a better time for students to join the Choir.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Please email <a href=\"mailto:alisonharrigan@sceggs.nsw.edu.au\">Miss Harrigan<\/a> our Director of Choirs to sign up.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>ANZAC Day \u2013 Holst Wind Ensemble<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Tuesday 30 April (First Day back of Term 2)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>7.30am warm-up and sound check<\/li>\n<li>8.30am Assembly performance (Great Hall)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Holst Wind Ensemble will be providing the ceremonial music for this year\u2019s ANZAC Service during our first school assembly of Term 2.<\/p>\n<p>Participating students are asked to arrive at 7.30am for a pre-assembly warm-up and sound check.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Clipboard<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>All co-curricular music ensemble schedules are now available on Clipboard.
