{"id":13486,"date":"2024-02-15T11:29:37","date_gmt":"2024-02-15T00:29:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thebuzz.net.au\/sceggs\/?post_type=article&#038;p=13486"},"modified":"2024-02-15T11:29:37","modified_gmt":"2024-02-15T00:29:37","slug":"visual-arts-88","status":"publish","type":"article","link":"https:\/\/www.thebuzz.net.au\/sceggs\/article\/visual-arts-88\/","title":{"rendered":"Visual Arts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The NAS HSC Intensive Studio Practice Course is a great opportunity for <strong>Year 11<\/strong> Visual Arts students who are passionate about art and want to extend their skills and expand their awareness of art practice in the unique atelier setting of the National Art School.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As a University Developed Board Endorsed Course, the HSC Intensive contributes an extra unit of Visual Arts study to the HSC.<\/p>\n<p>To apply for the course, applicants need to:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be a high achiever in their Preliminary Visual Arts Course and show that they are serious about their studies.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Tell us a bit about why they want to participate in the HSC Intensive.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Submit a portfolio of four images.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Have an endorsement from their Visual Arts teacher.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/protect-au.mimecast.com\/s\/XD8wCvl1VAt7ykr7SWKbHW?domain=nas.us8.list-manage.com\">Visit the NAS website<\/a> to find out how to apply.<\/p>\n<p>The dates for the 2024 HSC program are:<\/p>\n<table style=\"border-collapse: collapse;width: 100%\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 50%\"><strong>Module 1<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 50%\">Tuesday 16 \u2013 Friday 19 July 2024<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 50%\"><strong>Module 2<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 50%\">Monday 30 \u2013 Friday 4 October 2024<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><strong>Applications close Friday 12 April 2024.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>The Waverley Youth Art Prize is open!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Prize is open to anyone aged between 9-18 living, studying and playing in Sydney\u2019s East. This year, artists have been asked to respond to the theme <em>Mysteries of the Deep<\/em>. Entrants are encouraged to think about the possibilities of water as a subject in a new way. Broad creative interpretation of this theme is encouraged. Entrants may utilise ideas relating to popular culture, science fiction, sustainability, or something else. All mediums and interpretations are welcome.<\/p>\n<p>Winners of the Youth Art Prize will receive a range of art materials to help with future creations while the winner of the senior section will receive a voucher for a week at the\u00a0National Art School\u2019s Summer School.<\/p>\n<p>Applications must be submitted through the online portal before <strong>Friday, May 24<\/strong>.
