All students are required to play their scheduled matches.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Sailing<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Congratulations to Grace Morrow (Year 12) who travelled to Alicante in Spain to compete at the 420 World Championships. The trip was an amazing experience, with 277 boats from 20 countries competing over 6 days of racing, involving more than 600 sailors and their coaches, and supporters. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>One of the main objectives for the Australian Team was to expose the sailors to the scale and intensity of elite international competition. \u00a0Additional challenges were presented by the European heat wave, high humidity and the unusual sailing conditions of that part of the Mediterranean Sea. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Grace and her sailing partner competed in the Women\u2019s Division. The division was split in two, because of its size, and the competition ran over six qualifying races and six finals races. \u00a0The first two days offered light winds and a large chop, favouring the lighter local crews. \u00a0The third day presented much stronger winds, more similar to our strong summer winds. \u00a0This allowed the girls to demonstrate their skill and deliver their best results, finishing 7<sup>th<\/sup> and 13<sup>th<\/sup>. \u00a0Unfortunately, the first two days of light winds, and adjusting to the Mediterranean, cost them a spot in the gold fleet. \u00a0The next three days saw them deliver some great results finishing 13<sup>th<\/sup>, 17<sup>th<\/sup>, 6<sup>th<\/sup>, 10<sup>th<\/sup>, 20<sup>th<\/sup> and 8<sup>th<\/sup> in the final races of the championship. Overall, they finished 42<sup>nd<\/sup> in the 64 boat women&#8217;s fleet the best result of the four boat Australian team. \u00a0A great result for their first international regatta.<\/p>\n<div
