Visual Arts

Our two Visual Art assistants, Michaela Gleave and Lilli Stromland are both shortlisted for the Ravenswood Women’s art prize! The Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize is an annual acquisitive prize, launched in 2017 to provide further opportunities for emerging and established women artists in Australia. It is the highest-value professional artist prize for women in Australia.

We are very fortunate in the Visual Arts Department to have such a strong team of capable, inventive and successful women artists working in the SCEGGS community. We are proud to provide such incredible role models for our students and encourage our students to look back at Ms Willems article from last week listing the range of student prizes to enter.

Below are Michaela’s and Lilli’s shortlisted works:

Michaela Gleave; Lachlan Swamp 590nm bats
Lilli Stromland; Ode to Peaches and Cleaning

This week’s banner is a work by Year 9 student Elizabeth Teoh, recently completed for her Year 9 Sculpture Research task.
