Gateway8 2025: Exploring the AI Paradox

Gateway8 2025: Exploring the AI Paradox

Twenty-four teams from independent schools across Sydney came together at Gateway8 for a full day of academic problem-solving and cooperative learning. This was the Primary School’s second year competing in the Inter-School Academic Challenge, hosted by Macarthur Anglican School. The theme for the day was the AI Paradox – the idea that artificial intelligence can both enrich and complicate society in surprising ways. This thought-provoking theme shaped six unique challenges; each designed around Howard Gardner’s eight multiple intelligences. Through these tasks, the girls were encouraged to apply creativity, logical reasoning, collaboration, and problem-solving across disciplines such as English, Music, Science, History, Mathematics, and the Creative Arts.

We entered two teams in this year’s competition and were especially proud of the girls’ efforts and strong collaboration throughout the event. Over the course of the challenges, they tackled tasks that pushed them to think outside the box, take risks, and work together under pressure.

Congratulations must go to both teams:
