Around the Grounds – A Fantastic Season!

IPSHA Touch
It has been wonderful to see all of our IPSHA Touch teams grow in confidence and skill throughout the term. From the beginning to the end of the season, every team made excellent progress and most importantly the girls thoroughly enjoyed their time on the field.
SCEGGS 1 made great strides in their attacking play, particularly in their ability to drive forward and move the ball effectively when attacking the line. Team spirit was a standout of SCEGGS 4, with the girls showing fantastic support for one another. SCEGGS 2, a combined Years 5 and 6 team, came together beautifully and produced some excellent performances. Ms Thompson’s team also demonstrated wonderful teamwork, supporting each other throughout a number of close games and scoring some fantastic tries. SCEGGS 5 and 6 remained undefeated, while SCEGGS 7 went from strength to strength, finishing the season with two well-deserved wins.
A huge thank you to all of our dedicated coaching staff, led by Head Coach Matt. Their encouragement, enthusiasm and expertise have played an important role in helping the girls develop their skills and, most importantly, ensuring they had a positive experience.

IPSHA AFL
What a fantastic season of AFL for SCEGGS!
Our Term 3 IPSHA team brought together a brilliant mix of players, from experienced club footballers to girls picking up an AFL ball for the very first time. From the opening round, the group threw themselves into the competition with energy, enthusiasm and a real willingness to learn.
With Head Coach Jared and Assistant Coach Eden leading the way, the improvement across the season was tremendous. Skills sharpened, confidence grew and the girls became a stronger and more connected team each week. There were some excellent wins, some very tough opposition and a few thrilling games that went right down to the wire.
The real highlight though, was the spirit the girls brought to every game. They played for one another, celebrated each other’s efforts and competed with determination while always keeping the sense of fun that made this group so enjoyable to watch. Their sportsmanship, teamwork and pride in representing SCEGGS were evident every week.
It was a season full of growth, great moments and plenty of smiles, and the girls should be incredibly proud of all they achieved. See the girls in action here.

Year 3 Netball
Year 3 Netball has had a fantastic season, with our Blue, White and Yellow teams enjoying their first experience of netball as a Saturday sport.
Across the term, the girls have developed their skills, confidence and understanding of the game, showing wonderful improvement from week to week. A particular highlight has been seeing every player learn and confidently rotate through multiple positions, developing a much broader understanding of the game and demonstrating impressive adaptability.
With the support of their coaches, Milla, Sophie, Lauren and Georgia alongside SCEGGS Head Coach Shane, the girls have embraced every opportunity to learn, compete and work together as a teams.
Competing against Kambala and Ascham throughout the season, the girls finished with an exciting gala day-style experience, putting their skills into practice and celebrating how far they have come. We are so proud of the enthusiasm, teamwork and sportsmanship they have displayed throughout the term. I can’t wait to see them return for the inaugural IGSA Jnr competition next year!

Student Achievements
Lark Xiao (Year 4) competed at the Youth State Short Course Swimming Championships last weekend and came second in the 50m Freestyle and third in the 100m Freestyle. She also finished within the top 10 in her other three 50m events. She was very happy with her results. Congratulations to Lark for her achievements!
Aria Hawson (Year 3) is an avid dancer, a member of Randwick Physie & Dance, and last weekend competed in the teams competition. Not only did Aria enjoy the experience, but her team placed second in the 7-8yrs age group. Well done to Aria for her efforts!
