Every year that I have been at the school and as we approach Graduation it feels like there has been something significant - bigger than us - happening in the world. This year, we find ourselves in a week bookended by the funeral of the longest reigning British monarch - Queen Elizabeth II, and the Year 12 graduation.
In a year that has had far more than its fair share of rain and sickness, the opportunity to lighten our lives with some fun and connection has rarely been more important. Add to this the opportunities that our students had to learn about ways to check in on each other’s wellbeing during the RUOK? Day activities that meaningfully enriched our College community. As the Class of 2022 graduates, we are sending a group of digital savvy learners into society to impact it for the better. It is the time when our newly appointed House Captain or Prefects will be announced, with the School Captains being announced later this year. Unfortunately, we are unable to appoint all applicants to formal positions of leadership. There will no doubt be joyful responses and, conversely, sadness. As a Christian, I was struck by something more than Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II great service and commitment. Her Christian faith and life (imperfect as it was), is a reminder of the importance of recognising and submitting to Jesus’ kingship and rule, rather than becoming infatuated with our own. READ MORE
The final few weeks of Term 3 have been filled with joy as we welcomed families in to see our learning space and garden area. 5/6D visited Prep to read to our students, we furthered our scientific skills by observing colourful chemical creations and we talked about how to care for each other on ‘R U OK?’ day.
