Last week, Stage Two travelled to Sydney for their first excursion of the year. ‘Australia – Our Story’ is the theme and the focus will be on early settlement and indigenous story. This week Stage Three travels to the Central West to stay overnight at the chilly Bathurst. This Goldfields History trip will give a context to the significant events that mark the expansion of settlement in the early 1800’s.
This coincides with Reconciliation Week and the Schools Flag Walk. Today College students will join hundreds of students from other local schools to remember, support and build future harmony amongst all Australians, particularly our indigenous community.
Our value of Respect points us to an inclusive and humble desire to serve all in our community, and look for ways to build kindness and compassion. Wisdom gives us that ‘lighthouse’ of guidance in making good decisions as we learn and grow. Faith gives us the road map for reconciliation, ultimately shown in the Christian message of God’s love for all humanity in his son, Jesus Christ.
